Who is the Holy Spirit? He is God, A separate individual in the trinity
The Holy Spirit is the Creator – Several passages of Scripture reference the Holy Spirit as present and active during the act of creation including Genesis 1:2 (“the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”) and Job 26:13 (“By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens.”).
The Holy Spirit conceived Jesus Christ. Matthew 1:18 God allowed the Holy Spirit to transform His son into a single Cell and then impregnated Mary with it.
Where does the Holy Spirit Live?
The Holy spirit Indwelled in us from the moment we Believed. Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 6:19, John 14:16-17, Ephesians 1: 13-14
What does The Holy spirit Do?
Set Free from Sin. Romans 8:2
Deepened Relationship with God: The Spirit fosters a close, personal relationship with God, making prayer, worship, and meditation on Scripture more meaningful.
Transforms. The Spirit transforms character, guiding believers into truth and helping them align their lives with God’s will.
Mission and Witness: The Spirit emboldens believers to be witnesses for Christ, sharing the gospel and making disciples (Acts 1:8)
Imparts Gifts to us when needed. Galatians 5:22 Without the Spirit I will have no gifts.
Quenching or Grieving the Holy Spirit
Difference between Quenching and Grieving: While both quenching and grieving the Spirit involve hindering His work, they differ in focus.
Grieving the Spirit relates to outright ignoring the Spirit and continue living a life of sinful habits. Grieving the Spirit is the act of not listening and acting upon His Guidance.
Quenching the Spirit refers to suppressing His work and influence. We all do this. “Its time to get up and spend time with God in His word”, “it is time to go pray with that person”. Not accepting the gift given today.
“In essence, quenching the Holy Spirit is a serious matter for believers, as it hinders God's work in their lives and in the church. By being attentive to the Spirit's leadership, embracing spiritual gifts, and cultivating the fruit of the Spirit, believers can avoid quenching His fire and allow Him to work freely within them.”
Outpouring of the Holy Spirit
What is the outpouring of the Holy spirit and why is He waiting on us?
He can not work until we give total control to Him
We must actively choose to be lead instead of following our desires
We cannot sit by passively and wait on the Spirit. We must be active in seeking God in our lives.
